Danny Higginbotham has slammed the ludicrous claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should not be given the Manchester United job after the Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.The Red Devils were outclassed by the French champions on Tuesday night, as they sealed a 2-0 victory at Old Trafford in the first leg of their last-16 tie.It was Uniteds first loss under caretaker boss Solskjaer, who led the team to 10 wins and a draw from his first 11 games form which led to widespread calls for the club to hand him the reins permanently at the end of the season.The defeat to PSG, however, appeared to change some peoples minds, with suggestions the result was proof the former Cardiff and Molde boss is not ready to coach at the top level.2

Solskjaer was probably thinking at half time, How can we still win this game?Hes a very a front foot manager. Whereas Jose Mourinho might have looked to shut up shop, Solskjaer has looked at it and thought, our best form of defence is to attack.You just have to hold your hands up and say they came up against a team who were a better on the evening and better all round.I think its disrespectful to say thats the reason Solskjaer shouldnt get the job. You have to judge him over all of the season.
