Strong on the ball and pacy and powerful in behind, the Englishman is gradually showing the sort of form which earned him an international call-up.

The Frenchman raced through on goal with just Lukasz Fabianksi to beat, but could only muster a weak effort at the near post which the summer signing from Swansea easily saved.The Whites were in the ascendancy at this point, and an early goal could have made this a much different game.
