Tim Sherwood has branded Ajax Tottenhams feeder club, saying Spurs should have no problem seeing off the Dutch giants and progressing to their first ever European Cup final.Tottenham will be hoping to emulate Liverpool after their stunning semi-final comeback against Barcelona, when they take on Ajax in Amsterdam on Wednesday night live on talkSPORT.Like the Reds, Spurs trail the tie going into the second-leg, but a 1-0 deficit presents a seemingly simpler task as they aim to make it an all-Premier League final.

Five years ago, when we arrived, [the aim] was to reduce the gap to the top four, and then to have the possibility to play in the Champions League.“Nobody would believe we would be playing in the Champions League three seasons in a row and competing at this stage.”Sherwood believes the managers comments were tough-in-cheek, but disagreed with the suggestion that it would be a shock event if Spurs win the Champions League.In fact, he believes the opposite that Tottenham are massive favourites to beat Ajax and make it through to face Liverpool in Madrid.Speaking on Wednesday’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, the former Spurs player and manager said: I think Pochettino is saying that maybe its a bit far-fetched that Tottenham should win theChampions League, but I disagree, I think theyve got the players to beat anyone on their day.If its far-fetched for Tottenham to win the Champions League, how far-fetched would it be if their feeder club won the Champions League – and thats Ajax.At the beginning of the season, if you said youre going to play a two-legged semi-final against Ajax to get into the final of the Champions League, they would have ripped your hands off!
